Healthy Soups for the Elderly: Help Boost Your Immune System this Winter

Updated: Jan 14

Healthy Winter Soups

Soups are comforting and delicious, and we especially love healthy soups that are filled with vitamins and nutrients to help promote a strong immune system. While we should all make conscious food decisions that are beneficial for our bodies, it is especially important for seniors to consume foods filled with antioxidants to help boost their body's immunity against fighting colds, the flu, and coronavirus.

Finding a caretaker that is fully versed in the patient's dietary restrictions and food preferences is very important, and a huge priority for families seeking care. At Abbey Road Home Care, we know that bonding over healthy meals is a great way to establish a caring and responsible patient-aide relationship.

During these cold winter months, below are some of our favorite healthy soup recipes! Stock your pantry with recipe items that are easy for an aide to prepare. And did we mention that you can find all of these ingredients at Trader Joe's?!
